Project Ticca to Go: Food Parcels
Poor families in Ecuador earn their money on the streets. They sell all sorts of things from chewing gum to cigarettes, chocolate or candies to scrape together the money for their daily meal. During the lockdown, the families of our Villa Ticca escolares (the children who are already going to school) had a very hard time. They had to stay in one place and could not provide for their basic needs. Villa Ticca responded to their request for help in 2020 by providing food packages. Over 14 families managed to survive thanks to the contribution of Dutch donors. This target group still receives assistance in the form of food parcels due to poor employment oppertunities Dona Ruth is a former employee of Villa Ticca and performs this task every month with great commitment.
